Paola Rickard
Paola has had over twenty (20) years’ experience in the environmental resource management and assessment industry, specialising in Environmental Planning (environmental legislation), Environmental Impact Assessment and Management, Bushfire Assessment and Bushfire Prone Areas Design, compilations of REFs, landuse/property management planning, ecosystem management and restoration, bush regeneration and vegetation assessment. Paola has extensive experience in overall project management and coordination of the various components of project implementation, client liaison and consultation with State and Local government agencies, and conducting peer reviews and preparing tenders. Paola has worked as a Project Manager (PM) at ASPECT north, LandPartners Limited and EAL Consulting Services managing large and complex multi-disciplinary projects. Her work experience in the region, organisation and team management skills ensure that the projects she manages are delivered to fulfil client expectations. PM responsibilities include budget compliance, client liaison, project team management, quality assurance and peer review. Paola also has considerable experience in community consultation and education in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
Paola Rickard was a Biodiversity Accredited Assessor (BAAS19014) from 19 March 2019 to 18 March 2022
Paola Rickard is a Bushfire Planning and Design (BPAD) – Level 3 Accredited Practitioner. She is a participating member of the FPA Australia Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) /20 Bushfire Safety. The TAC provides a nationally focussed forum for discussion between practitioners, fire services and regulators on the design and construction of property in areas prone to bushfires.
From 2015 to 2019, Paola was appointed as a BPAD member to the NSW Bushfire Working Group (NSWBWG) set up by FPA Australia. The NSWBWG provide a forum to discuss the application, interpretation and periodic review of NSW Government-based bushfire related regulatory requirements governing land use planning and building construction in areas subject to bushfire impact.
